

VST is a 3rd party implementation adhering to 3rd party standards outside the scope of Reason’s own SDK. As Mattias Häggström mentioned during the Propellerhead live-stream of Reason 9.5 and it’s features, “ there will be issues with some controllers and some VST’s. The forum is now available for the public, making it possible to search for posts from people having the same issues as you during the beta test (if any). We had the privilege of hosting the official beta test forum for Reason 9.5. Our forum user Catblack has started a thread dedicated for gathering these remote informations to create a central repository for your remote map creating needs. It is now also possible to export device remote info on a selected device through the file menu. With the release of Reason 9.5, VST effects and instruments for some of the biggest players has entered the shop, like Waves, u-he, iZotope, and Synapse – And as expected, Xfer Records Serum is available as well. However, Plugin Delay Compensation (click for an explanation) or PDC is also a major improvement, a feature that has been at the very top of the most-wanted features for me personally. Obviously the inclusion of VST is the biggest of all the new features – We now even have VST offerings in the shop. Propellerhead Reason 9.5 is out! Finally, this highly anticipated update including the addition of the probably most wanted feature is available to all! A full month of asking beta testers questions and speculating about the future of the Rack Extension format can be put to rest for some time while we all test out the capabilities of Reason 9.5.
